Infographic: Consumers not put off by online security breaches

Despite recent eCommerce privacy breaches, research from Aimia stated most consumers are willing to share personal information with brands

Despite recent online security concerns following recent information breaches by Ashley Madison and WH Smith, consumers are still willing to share personal information with brands

A new report from Aimia – the company behind the Nectar scheme – asked 20,000 people across 11 countries about their attitudes towards sharing their personal information online.

Three quarters of UK consumers are willing to share key pieces of personal information with brands, but brands are not taking advantage of the golden opportunity as only 7% of consumers feel they receive better offers as a result of sharing their details.

Revealed at World Retail Congress, the report concluded that over 80% of people are willing to share name, email address, and nationality with companies, while over 70% are also willing to share their date of birth, hobbies, and occupation.
