This morning saw the 2015 edition of RBTE get underway, co-located for the first time with the exciting new Retail Design Expo.

Throughout the day retail professionals from across Europe filled the halls to learn about the latest innovations and developments from the retail technology and design worlds.

Event programmes off to a flying start…
RBTE opened with an outstanding Keynote from Dixons Carphone’s Andrew Harrison, providing a fascinating insight into the potential of digital work forces in retail. We caught up with Andrew after the session for a summary of the key points.

Meanwhile over at the Retail Design Expo the seminar programme kicked-off with a look at retail trends from around the globe, with The Future Laboratory’s Editor-in-Chief, Martin Raymond delivering an engaging and exciting session.

Other day 1 speakers didn’t disappoint with industry leaders such as Paul Coby, IT Director for John Lewis and Steve Rowe, Executive Director of Food at M&S taking to the RBTE stage.

While Retail Design Expo welcomed big names including Linda Hewson, Creative Director at Selfridges and Ruth Aldous-Taylor, Head of Retail Visual Indentity for National Trust to it’s first edition.

We spoke to Tony Holdway, Director of Brand at House of Fraser following his session, he told us more about why he was at Retail Design Expo.

The industry’s biggest names…
Across both events a broad range of exhibitors covered every aspect of retail technology and design. HP, Samsung and Verifone were just some of the exhibitors on the show floor at RBTE and the Retail Design Expo featured Ceramiche Caesar, Bright Green Technology and Visive Group to name just a few.

During the day we spoke to Star Micronics’ Annette Tarlton, she told us what they are showcasing at the event and exactly why they attend.
